hangover brackets
The next new product to come out in 2024 is the latest in our portfolio of awning brackets, called the “hangover bracket” based in its ability to be self-supporting, as it hangs over the side of your roof rack. Key features include:
Solid, powder coated, 10ga steel, single piece design with no assembly required and no moving parts.
Multiple slots allow this bracket to be used in a wide variety of awnings, shower enclosures, even rod cases and other rack accessories.
Ability to support larger awnings with just 2 brackets, including anything from Ironman4x4, Overland Vehicle Systems, Rhino, or any other awning about that same size and weight.
One person install and take-down- innovative “twist” method keeps the weight on the rack, and off of your shoulders.
Use the brackets to attach your awning to the wall in your garage for a unique storage solution.
Nothing left behind on the rack with the awning removed- no residual bracket pieces to get in the way of your next project.
Easy, 3- step installation…
The awning is self-supporting with all bolts only “hand tight,” enabling you to install your awning easily, even by yourself. Once your awning is in position, then tighten all of the awning bolts and bracket/rack bolts to finish the installation. Additional things to note…
Some rack plates, particularly older rack plates, do not have the round hole between the slots. On these racks, you’ll need to drill a 3/8” hole for the center bracket/plate bolt.
Most awnings only come with 6 total bolts/nuts to secure the brackets to the awning, and these brackets are able to run a total of 8. In most cases, these bolts are M8x1.25mm bolts about 20mm long.. the key is the bolt head that takes a 13mm wrench. You might have these laying around, possibly from a set of fog lights, or other product, if so try one on your awning to see if it fits, if you need more bolts you can order them below. Rhino batwing awnings require those bolts to be ground down on 2 sides to fit into the slots, which is easily done if you have a bench grinder. Alternatively, you can order the thinner t-bolts from Rhino, the part number is B096-BP.
Use care when rotating the awning and brackets, to avoid pinching your fingers between the brackets and roof rack.
